When is the next Class of 80 Reunion going to be held? The next reunion will be held July 1 - 3, 2010 in conjunction with the annual Panama Canal Society Reunion at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, Orlando, FL to celebrate our 30th year since graduation. Go to the Reunion News section of this website for more information. Why should I keep up an annual membership in the Panama Canal Society? We hold our Class Reunions in conjunction with the annual Panama Canal Society Reunions held every year around July 4 in Orlando, Florida. In order to get the Society Hotel room rates and participate in all the Society activities during the Reunion week, we ask all of our alumni who plan to attend to join the Panama Canal Society. www.panacanalsociety.org We strongly encourage all alumni to maintain their memberships every year rather than once every five years to coincide with one of our Class Reunion years. The motto of the Society is "to preserve American ideals and Canal Zone friendships." The Society achieves this mission by holding the annual reunion during which many of the High School classes hold their reunions, and by publishing a quarterly magazine called the Canal Record. This organization provides a valuable service in keeping the extended C.Z. family connected. Let's do our part to keep the Society alive and vibrant, and to take up the torch as the older generations pass it along. Congratulations to BHS 80 alumni Lynn Dunning Harp, and Karen Peugnet Brandl, who are currently serving as reporters for the Society publication Canal Record.
