Warren Archer
7/16/62 - 3/05/08

Warren Oliver Archer, SSgt, USAF (Ret),  passed away on  March 5, 2008 at North Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas, following a lengthy illness.  He passed away exactly four years after his mother Edna Archer, who passed away on March 5, 2004.  His funeral service was held  on Wednesday, March 12 at the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, 5900 Cameron Road, Austin, Texas  78723.     Among survivors are his wife Beverly Archer; two sons William Anthony Archer and Waldron Archer; siblings Idolly White, Walford Archer Jr., Waldron Archer and Nivia Butler; sister-in-law Ana Archer; brother-in-law Roberto A. White; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  In addition to his mother, Warren was predeceased by his father Walford Archer and his sister Alice Archer Moore.  Condolences may be sent to his wife Beverly Archer, at 1007 Canyon Maple Drive, Pflugerville, Texas.

Charles "Chuck" Hummer
5/04/62 - 9/19/94

Charles W. Hummer III, 32, of Davenport, Florida, died Monday, September 19, at the Florida Hospital in Orlando, after a battle with AIDS.  He was Executive Director of the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida, a resource organization for people living with HIV and AIDS, a post he held for six years.  He was a member of the Metropolitan Business Association, a founding member of the East Central Florida AIDS Network; member of the Diversity Council for the City of Orlando; and affiliated with the Local Health Services Planning Council.  He was recently recognized by Orange County Chairman Linda Chapin and Mayor of Orlando Glenda Hood in separate proclamations for his community service, leadership, and positive role in the fight against HIV and AIDS.  He was born in the Republic of Panama and lived there until 1979 when he moved to join his parents in Northern Virginia.  He moved to Orlando in 1987.  He is survived by his mother, Greta N. Hummer, of Reston, Va; his father and stepmother, Charles W. Hummer,Jr. and Sandra Hummer of Haines City, Fl; and his long-time companion, Mark Steffy, also of Davenport.

Mike Scott
11/22/61 - 9/17/02

     Michael A. Scott, 40, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away at his residence on September 17, 2002.  He suffered from cancer for a year.
     He was raised in the Canal Zone, graduating from Balboa High School in 1980.  Michael was an avid surfer and loved the ocean.  While in the Navy he was stationed in Cuba, then Guam and finally Hawaii.  He was a welder with the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor for several years.  
     He is survived by his wife Pamela, stepdaughter Aileah, parents Ken and Nancy Scott of Florida, and brothers Jeffrey of Texas, Thomas of North Carolina, and Randolph aboard the USS Rainier.  
     Services were held in Oahu Cemetery, Honolulu, Hawaii along with a Military Honors ceremony.

Claudia Vassaux

Claudia M. Vassaux Linné, 29, of San Mateo, California, passed away July 29, 1990, after several years of battling with lupus.

She is survived by her husband John, daughter Christina, parents Mario and Estele Vassaux, sister Patty, and brother Mario.

Her memorial service was held in Foster City, California.


 


Matthew Ward

Matthew Ward, January graduate of BHS, died Thursday, April 17, after his jeep overturned while returning from Cerro Azul.  A memorial mass was held on Monday, April 21, at St. Marcus Episcopal Church in Panama.
